As the owner, your voice is needed throughout the project to instill compliance to the goals and objective of the project. Your vision of the future is what will drive momentum through the organization that this is the best solution to the problems that exist in the current environment.

Without your help, the project will struggle under the weight of complacency and take longer to be deployed, if at all. Your support from above is crucial to the success of the implementation and will help guide end users through the necessary changes and into utilizing the tool across the board.

In summary, each project should have an identified party responsible for the application and implementation. Without a champion, a project may falter, which can waste money and valuable resources if the organization is not careful. The Project champion or owner’s main role is to remove the barriers of the project so that it can be deploy within scope, in schedule and under budget.
